Fairfield County, Connecticut
Good bones.
Extraordinary masonry.

Fine brickwork, natural stone, and thoughtful restoration. Made to belong to your home. Built to outlast us.
Colonial brickwork
New work. Old soul.
The right brick. The right bond. Mortar that belongs. We draw on the proportions of Federal and Georgian homes to create brickwork that feels part of the original architecture.
- Quoined corners & keystone lintels, drawn from Federal and Georgian originals
- Mortar matched and colored to the house you already have
- Brick chosen brick-by-brick for color and character
- Veneer that reads as original from the street

Stone fireplaces & outdoor rooms
A reason to stay outside.
Outdoor stone fireplaces, fire pits wrapped in a curved sitting wall, brick terraces and walkways that tie the yard to the house. Built to be used in October and lit again in May.
- Fieldstone fireplaces with real fireboxes and proper chimneys
- Fire pits with curved stone sitting walls
- Brick terraces, walkways & steps that match the architecture
- Drainage and frost-proof footings — a wall that moves is a wall that fails
The craft
The difference is in the details.
The turn of a corner. The depth of a joint. The quiet rhythm of stone against brick. Solid limestone quoins give the corner its definition; careful setting gives the whole wall its composure.

01
Measure
We study the house, the original brick, and the mortar before we touch a wall.
02
Match
Brick and mortar are sampled against the existing work until the new reads as original.
03
Lay & point
Laid with period discipline, pointed with care, cleaned without acid.
Chimney & masonry repair
Care for what stands above.
Water gets in, freezes, and quietly pushes your chimney apart from the inside. By spring, the crown is cracked, the mortar is powdering, and the brick is spalling. Most of it is fixable — if it's caught before the next freeze, not after.
Crown rebuilds
The chimney's umbrella. Cracked crowns leak; rebuilt ones shed.
Repointing & tuckpointing
We rake out the failed mortar and match the new to the old.
Flue liners & caps
Safe, code-correct, and sized to your fireplace.
Flashing & leak fixes
Where the chimney meets the roof is where water wins.
Look for: white efflorescence on the brick · crumbling mortar you can pick out with a finger · a cracked or missing crown · water in the firebox after a storm.

Illustrative homeowner reviews · fictional concept
Built on care. Remembered for it.
“They matched our 1785 house's brick so well that the building inspector asked which wall was original. Same color, same size, same mortar — you cannot find the seam. That's the whole review.”
“We wanted a fireplace for the yard. They built the fireplace, wrapped it in a sitting wall, and now the yard gets used in November. My wife picked the stone; they made it look like it had been there forty years.”
“Two other masons quoted a full tear-off. Fairfield found the crown was the problem, rebuilt it, repointed the top courses, and showed me photos of every step. Three years later, dry as dust.”
