Why Your Website Isn't Showing Up

Part 3

Why an AI-Written "Window Replacement" Post Won't Rank

“So you asked an AI to write a 'window replacement' post. Cute. Now Google knows — and so do your customers.”

Concept image.

Somewhere along the way, “SEO” got reduced to one idea: write a bunch of articles and Google will love you. So the shortcut that gets sold to contractors everywhere goes like this — open a prompt, type “write an SEO blog post about window replacement,” paste the output onto your site, hit publish.

It looks professional. The grammar is flawless. And it sits on page five forever.

Google can smell generic. Search engines are flooded with millions of identical articles repeating the same textbook points — “windows improve energy efficiency and boost curb appeal.” There's nothing in that post tying it to your service area, your field experience, or real houses in your county. If an article could belong to any contractor in any state, it can never be the best answer for a specific homeowner in your town. It offers zero new local value compared to a thousand identical scrapes already sitting on the web.

But the algorithm is only half the problem. Your customer spots it immediately. If a homeowner actually lands on that page, they aren't looking for textbook theory — they want to know if you can fix the specific issue in their house. Instead of proof, they get a Wikipedia article with your logo pasted at the top.

The content that actually ranks and converts is built on details no software can make up:

  1. The specific local problem. The drafty second-story bay window in a 1920s colonial that had been leaking through two freeze-thaw cycles.
  2. The actual field diagnosis. What you found when you pulled the trim, how you handled the rotted framing, why you picked a specific flashing method.
  3. Authentic job photos. Raw, clear shots of the teardown, the prep, the clean finish — on a recognizable street in your service radius.
  4. Your actual contractor voice. The honest trade advice you give a homeowner standing in their driveway — not polished corporate jargon.

Search engines reward real, original local data. Generic filler tells both the crawler and the customer the same thing: you have nothing distinctive to show.

Winning local search isn't about pumping out more volume. It's about publishing your actual jobs, your real photos, and your specific trade experience in the towns you cover.

We don't replace you with an AI. We get the real story out of you. You've already got the jobs, the photos, the wins, the honest war stories — we turn those into pages Google trusts and neighbors actually read. You bring the craft. We make it findable.

Up next — Part 4: the template you paid for is quietly holding you back. Same layout as every competitor, towns buried in the footer.
